Christmas Elf Rabbit Amigurumi
To wrap up our Christmas amigurumi friends for this year, we introduce to you the Christmas Elf Rabbit Amigurumi!
This rabbit was made fromt the same rabbit amigurumi pattern I recently wrote up and posted for sale. All I did to transform the rabbit into a Christmas Elf Rabbit amigurumi was change up the colors. I made the body green, the feet black to resemble boots, and alternated red and white on the arms to simulate the festive sleeves elves wear.
We further jazzed up this Christmas Elf Rabbit amigurumi by adding some adornments here and there. My sister cut out a band from black felt and glued it across the waist to resemble a belt. I cut out four small strips from some gold trimming and glued it in place onto the belt to look like the belt buckle. My sister also cut out small strips from a puffy white pipe cleaner and wrapped it around the Christmas Elf Rabbit amigurumi’s feet and neck to give it that “wintery” look. We also found some small gold confetti dots and glued them down the center of the body to be buttons.
One last thing that made this Christmas Elf Rabbit amigurumi really special was the placement of the left ear. Usually we make both ears stick straight up, but this time we made one ear flop. We did this because we were curious to see if what it would look like. I also originally planned to give this Christmas Elf Rabbit amigurumi a little Santa hat too, but the hats I crocheted just never came out quite right, and it didn’t sit very well on the floppy ear :(. But, at least the floppy ear still looks cute, and I even think it gives the rabbit some more character! Kind of a smart-alecky look, in my opinion.
I think this Christmas Elf Rabbit amigurumi really shows how easy it is to customize amigurumis based off of one pattern. Just simply changing the colors of the arms, body, and feet, can make the amigurumi look like it’s wearing clothes, without actually having to crochet clothes! If only dressing up in real life were that simple and cheap haha. And of coruse, adding some special adornments, like a belt, buttons, and fur, also help to take this amigurumi to the next level. That’s what I always found most fascinating about amigurumis. You can do whatever you want! There really is no limit to what you can do, which may be a bad thing because it just makes me want to do EVERYTHING!
Uh oh! The Reindeer Amigurumi has come by to check on the Christmas Elf Rabbit Amigurumi’s progress. Quit lolly-gagging and get back to work, we need to make those gift deliveries on time!! :P
Thanks for looking! We and our Christmas amigurumi friends wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! <3
