Mrs Claus Christmas Monkey Amigurumi
To continue our streak of Christmas-themed amigurumi this year, we present to you Mrs Claus Christmas monkey amigurumi!
This idea was also spurred by a suggestion from my workplace. It’s so nice that my co-workers are so encouraging and supportive of my hobby! They not only offer moral support, but also give me great ideas!
Our Mrs Claus Christmas monkey amigurumi has almost everything the real Mrs Claus has, like a cute apron and a…night cap/shower cap? Sorry, my vocabulary is quite lacking, but you know what I mean! She even has some holly to be extra festive! Pictured above, she is in the kitchen, ready to bake some cookies for when Santa monkey amigurumi comes home from a busy night of gift delivery.
Here’s a closer look at the back of our Mrs Claus monkey. The lace of her apron was simply lightly glued onto her body. I spent a really long time knitting her cap, using a very small crochet hook and very thin yarn. I’m almost willing to bet the total number of stitches for the cap is greater than the number stitches needed to crochet the whole monkey itself! My mom thought I was crazy for crocheting such a large cap, but I just didn’t think the Mrs Claus Christmas monkey amigurumi would look complete without a cozy cap to at least cover her big ears!
The only thing I wish I knew how to do, is to give her some white curly hair. I guess I could have used some curly doll hair from the craft store, but then I’d have to glue the hair onto her head, which just seems too messy. Anyone have any recommendations on how to add hair to amigurumis? I’m clueless!
All right! Mrs Claus Christmas monkey amigurumi is ready to welcome Santa monkey amigurumi home with her delicious home-made amigurumi cookies!
Say what, Santa monkey amigurumi? You’ve eaten your fill of milk and cookies to last you until next Christmas? Well, too bad, that’s all I made!
Just kidding, honey…Merry Christmas!! <3
