Farmer Monkey Amigurumi
It’s way past the middle of the month, but we haven’t forgotten about our farmer monkey amigurumi for September! Here it is! Finally!
What will he be harvesting today?
In making this monkey, I wanted the body to have a hay-like color to it. Actually, the name of the color for the yarn was “hay”! At first, I didn’t know what kind of monkey to make for the month of September. But then I saw this yarn and thought why not make a farmer monkey amigurumi? When I think of September, I think of things like fall, farmlands, and harvesting crops–especially pumpkins for some reason. :)
Looks like our farmer monkey is ready to start another busy and laborious day out in the fields! All the extra props were things that I found lying around the house. They really came in handy this time!
We didn’t want the hat to be too fancy…it just wouldn’t have that organic feel to it. Sometimes if you overdecorate, it just ends up looking unfocused and sort of like a mishmash of different ideas going on in the same amigurumi. So the simple approach was what we were going for. Besides, have you ever seen a farmer working out in the fields with a totally decked out straw hat?
Harvesting some vegetation? Looks like he even sprinkled some fertilizer. :D
We even decorated his overalls with some patches of cloth. Did you notice them? One was on the front and two others were on each side.
Looks like he’s harvesting some…crab grass! We just love crab grass, don’t we?
Well, that’s it for a busy day in the life of our farmer monkey amigurumi!!
